Copyright protection done smart

If you enjoy Station Identification, or any of my other WordPress plugins, please consider a donation.

Station Identification is a WordPress plugin that allows the user to add customizable copyright message at the foot of all posts on their site feed(s). By default it contains a link back to the original post, a link to the home page of the blog, and the author’s name. It is most useful in defense against feed scraping or automated plagiarism. While less full-featured than some feed identifiers, it is by far simpler and less intrusive to the law-abiding reader.

It’s name comes from the practice in radio and television to “pause for station identification”, meaning to show the station tag and/or play a promotional clip. The phrase is forever buried in my mind from watching Harry Caray and Steve Stone cover the Chicago Cubs on WGN TV.
