An ongoing experiment to abstract and/or reduce film posters. Some famous, some not so famous but all cool in their own way.
My friend Eliza Gauger linked to this with the text “how to draw EVERYTHING,” and that’s all I need to know.
The worst or best possible place to take drugs in the world, depending on the drug. Looks like something out of Carl Sagan’s dreams.
Eliza Gauger’s farewell to Frank Frazetta. A giant died today.
The greatest classical painter of the modern era, and the only fantasy artist with enough balls to paint cellulite.
Sets of 5 buttons, each unique and handmade by the artist. It is her birthday, so buy something.
Around 2pm PST, 5pm EST. Join us for art, filmstrips, and conversation. You will be glad you did.
I’ll have a SWEATSHOP account set up on Eat24Hours.com, a website that acts as a portal to every delivery restaurant with an online menu. You, the Sweaty Victims Unit, will be able to order food directly to the studio in order to sustain the artists during our long haul. Bay Area locals are welcome to drop sustenance off in person, and come in for a studio visit.
Do not forget to file the proper forms.
1984-1990 was a great time for video game boxes. Nowadays, nobody will release cover art that doesn’t look like an explosion happened in the game’s art asset department.
The nose is all wrong, but this graceful creature is nonetheless my friend Lorraine, who has just suffered a grievous accident in which she fractured her spine. She is a dancer and a model and is now bedridden, totally unable to support herself. Tomorrow I will be running a tipjar marathon in which I paint portraits of her all day, and collect donations on PayPal for her medical bills.
“Dancing Bear” means Eliza paints as long as people keep money in the tip jar. Seriously, she will paint forever if you keep giving her money. Once it’s going, you’ll be able to watch/interact on USTREAM.
Top tippers will get one the paintings themselves, or one of two $50 gift cards to Clockwork Couture, purveyors of fine Steampunk wearables.
There’s nothing about this I don’t love.
Evan has painted the Obama “HOPE” poster, and the original AP photo. The first one to send him a cease-and-desist “wins.” Previously.
Hi-res scans of cover and box art for video games. They carry scans of newer games, which to me is a bit unnecessary, but they have a wealth of covers for NES, SNES, 3DO, Intellivision, etc.
A bit late for the initial craze, but I’m sure the quality of fan-made stuff will only go up. Includes: Level icons, animated GIFs, and some gorgeous wallpapers.
