After thinking about this stuff for a very long time, I’ve settled pretty firmly in the camp of thinking that interfaces should mimic social creatures, that they should have personalities, and that I should be communicating with the interface rather than the interface being an extension of myself.
Makes sense to me.
My great friend and sometimes collaborator Eliza Gauger is starting a new comics series with writer Simon Berman called Black Hole Wizard. Official info is scant thus far, but:
Created by writer, Simon Berman and artist, Eliza Gauger, Black Hole Wizard is a comic book series that explores the weirder recesses of science fiction and fantasy, the droning soundscapes of doom metal, and the new aesthetics of 21st Century occultism.
There’s some pretty cool fan art coming out already.
This week I’ve officially accepted a position with Occipital, helping them bring their kickass computer vision research and products to the web. You may know them from their app, 360 Panorama, which is found on most iPad demo units in Apple stores. They also created Red Laser, which is now owned by eBay.
Glad to be part of the team, plus now I can call myself an Engineer.
